Pet Dental Care... Simplify, Simplify

Can Pet Dental Care Be Simple?

Henry David Thoreau said, Our life is frittered away by detail... simplify, simplify.  To which his friend Ralph Waldo Emerson responded, I think one simplify should have sufficed.

Pet dental care seems like that, there are so many choices that most people simply ignore it until their pet has a real tooth ache.

Unless you brush your pet's teeth after every meal, bits of food and bacteria collect right at the gum line and that turns into plaque. If this plaque isn’t removed, in just a few days, it will harden into tartar that sticks to your pet’s teeth.
Tartar irritates the gums, resulting in inflammation, also known as “gingivitis”.  If the tartar isn’t removed it will build up under your pet's gums. This can cause the gums to pull away from the teeth, creating small open spaces that act as collection points for bacteria. In more advanced cases, tooth extractions can become necessary after the tooth is affected by the decaying area.
Unfortunately, other than bad breath and discolored gums (should be pink), there are few signs that your pet is developing dental disease. Check your pet’s breath and look at their gums right now.

The Best Dental Care
The best daily dental care you can do for your pet is the one you and your pet will do.  Not everyone has time to brush their pet’s teeth and not every pet will allow it, but there other choices like chews, additives and special food that are very effective.  We are happy to help you find something that will work.
